Get Ready for Production

This post will serve the purpose of detailing the preparations in advance to the Shoot and the preparations, set backs and hurdles faced on the day of the Shoot before starting and then I will recount the Shoot itself in the next post.

The first thing to do before finalizing the day of the shoot was ensuring that the cast and equipment was available to us on that day. We created a Whatsapp chat, adding everyone involved, cast crew etc. There we debated and thrice rejected the selected dates due to one of following three reasons, nonavailability of a cast member, unavailability of equipment and unavailability of school premises (this was for a Sunday).

The next thing was to ensure that we will have the equipment lent to us for the day of the shoot and this was handled by Abdullah. He contacted our mutual friend Abdullah Imran Qureshi and checked the availability of the drone and the DSLR that we were borrowing from him once again. Once we had the second confirmation that the equipment will be available to us for the day of the shoot, the date was officially final.

Now we needed to get everything ready, Huzaifaa was tasked with getting the paints and paintbrushes, for the costumes everyone was asked to bring their own vests and shorts since everyone has those.

Since all of the actors needed to be in the drone shots, Abdullah was going to handle them and for the rest of the shots we were just going to shift between me, Huzaifaa and Abdullah. Humayun was in almost every scene and the main actor, hence he was not part of the camerawork.

Abdullah Imran Qureshi gave Abdullah Siddiqui a crash course on operating the drone and he gave me and Huzaifaa a crash course on the DSLR.

This was pretty much it for before the day of the shoot, now we just had to hope that everything went according to plan because we had only one day's permission to shoot in the school.
